the lace sleeves were a different off-white than her dress

So after figuring out at 5 am that I didn't need to be in to work at 8am and rather at 10am I was slightly more excited about my day.

I had not worked check out in a while and so it was good to get my hand back in. Management finally wised up and realised that we have at least 60 out of 85 rooms left for the labour day weekend and have drastically cut prices and have told the reservation agents to "use their descrection [sic]" in setting prices. The only problem with this is that it really messes with our comission because if we get anything less than rack rate we don't make our 5%.

This slightly excitable lady forgot her "special" pillow in the room that she checked out of this morning and housekeeping spent most of the day tracking it down. She then claimed that, while the case was hers, the pillow inside was not. We are quite confused by this, seeing as housekeepers wouldn't have taken a pillow out of a case that clearly didn't belong to the resort only to switch it for another pillow that also didn't belong to the resort.
*le sigh

We have a family reunion, 2 weddings and a conference on site as well. It's going to be an interesting weeekend. I'm on from 8-4 tomorrow and then 10-10 on sunday (which is going to suck).

The family reunion, somewhat predictably, all have similar last names and so check in becomes a big ball of confusion, especially when one person puts a bunch of rooms on hold and then family members are supposed to call in and book individually. Well, if they wait until the last minute then the specific rooms they want might not still be available because Uncle Bob has already booked it! It is not the resort's fault!

Today's groom and bride had a 25 year age difference. He told our wedding planner that tonight was very special because "it was the first time they were going to make love" after dating for 5 years. He tried to set her up with his son. Why do people tell their wedding planner this stuff?? Plus, her dress was apperently hideously gross.

Today's Tips:
If you leave stuff in a hotel room don't be suprised when you don't get it back.

If you are getting married at a resort with extensive grounds and roadways, make signs to direct your guests.

Unless your destination is on a major road, don't believe those mapquesty type programs. They will get you lost and make you late for the rehersal.

Once again, I implore you, if you have special requests in any way, tell your reservation agent. If they make a recomendation, seriously consider what they are telling you.
