does anyone know how to cook fava beans?

Here is how it usually works. when you arrive at a hotel you have booked a "class" of room. standard, deluxe, whatever. when you arrive at the hotel they will put you in whatever room in that class that is clean and ready to go. here at the resort, because each class of room has variations within it (bunk beds, pull out couches etc) we reserve you a specific room, or one of a group of 3 or 4 rooms like the one we told you about on the phone when you called, and you have to wait for that room to be ready. check out is at 11 am. we have 70 rooms. we promise you that your room will be ready by 4. it might be ready earlier but we guarantee 4pm. If you show up at 1 and your room isn't ready, don't come back at 6 and then complain that you should get a late check out because you couldn't get into the room until 6. We tell guests that they are welcome to use the resort facilities for the day but a late check out just creates problems when the next guest for that room shows up at 1am. A guest today complained that he should be entitled to a late check out because he couldn't get into the room until 4 pm and "that isn't 24 hours". you never get a hotel room for 24 hours unless you reserve 2 days people!

Another lesson today..always ask about the cancellation policy. If they take a deposit of your money, you want to know if you lose it if you cancel.

I got tipped a bottle of wine today..it's nice too, if anyone cares it's a bottle of yellow tail shiraz that I got for upgrading a manic guy and his girlfriend to whom he was claiming he was going to propose. not sure I believe him but the room I moved him out of was going to be way easier to sell than the one I moved him into and he was paying a weird rate anyway that was more than he should have been paying.
